The Quick Center Announces Dynamic 16 -17 Season

The Quick Center’s dynamic 26th season will push the boundaries of art and performance through engaging works and in collaboration with artists that are pioneers in their fields, creating space for the exploration of remarkable and inspiring performing arts opportunities for the Fairfield County community and beyond.

  • 400 years of Shakespeare will be honored with a U.S. Premiere of Brett Bailey’s Macbeth. This incredible adaptation of Verdi’s opera, given four stars and dubbed “astonishing” by The Telegraph, will be brought to American audiences for the first time at the Quick Center for the Arts, in collaboration with the Philadelphia Fringe Festival.
  • The Quick will expand its walls to bring two site-specific works to the community. BANDALOOPand Theatre for One will invade locations around campus as aerial dancers perform on sides of buildings and patrons experience their own play in an intimate setting.
  • The new Arts Incubator Program will bring Sō Percussion and Adele Myers and Dancers to The Quick an up-close and personal experience to the arts. Created as a part of the Arts Education and Outreach Fund, this new program aims to support new work and connect innovative artists with audiences.
  • The Global Theatre series returns with the American Music Series curated by Fairfield University Jazz professor and bassist Brian Torff. Listening Sessions are FREE and open to the public.
  • An original and new performance project sees homeless Veterans from ARBI/Homes for the Brave collaborate with a team of creatives, including Quick Center executive director Peter Van Heerden, to produce WAR STORIES.

Interspersed with all of these new offerings are regular audience favorites and an Open VISIONS roster that challenges and pushes contemporary conversations.

For the full schedule, prices and to order tickets, visit quickcenter.com or call the Box Office at (203) 254-4010 or toll-free 1-877-ARTS-396. Events take place at the Quick Center unless otherwise noted.
